About EternalClock

EternalClock is a precision instrument for tracking the new crescent, calculated from Jerusalem using NASA/JPL DE440 ephemeris data — one of the most accurate astronomical datasets available for the period 1550–2650.

Unlike several conventional calendars based on fixed mathematical rules to determine the length of a lunar month, EternalClock uses near-real-time astronomical computation to estimate the moment of first lunar crescent visibility from Jerusalem, drawing inspiration from ancient observation practices.

Our algorithm accounts for lunar elongation, altitude, atmospheric refraction, and topocentric parallax to deliver sub-minute accuracy across a span of 1,100 years (1550–2650), subject to the inherent limitations of astronomical models and input data. Astronomical calculations based on JPL DE440 lunar and planetary ephemerides (NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory). This calendar is neither endorsed, sponsored, nor affiliated with NASA or JPL.

The Vision

Roddy Carlo & Co.

EternalClock is not merely a digital calendar. It is the first chapter of an unprecedented horological endeavor by Roddy Carlo & Co. — a luxury timepiece that will integrate the new crescents of Jerusalem into its mechanism, a world first in the history of watchmaking.

For millennia, civilizations have looked to the western sky at twilight, searching for the thin arc of the nascent crescent to mark the beginning of a new month. This ancestral practice, at the crossroads of astronomy, faith, and culture, has never been translated into the language of fine watchmaking — until now.

The Roddy Carlo & Co. timepiece will carry within its movement 1,100 years of astronomical data computed from Jerusalem, bridging the ancient art of crescent observation with the precision of modern horology. EternalClock is where this journey begins — the digital foundation upon which the physical masterpiece will be built, if the Grand Creator (God, Allah, YHWH) permits.

A World First

No luxury timepiece has ever integrated the new crescents of Jerusalem. Roddy Carlo & Co. is pioneering this fusion of millennia-old astronomical tradition with Swiss-level horological craftsmanship.

From Digital to Physical

EternalClock serves as the digital proving ground — validating the algorithms, refining the data, and building the community that will bring the physical timepiece to life.

Scientific Precision

NASA/JPL DE440 ephemeris with sub-minute accuracy for lunar visibility calculations.

Ancient Heritage

Probably the most faithful to the method of naked-eye observation from Jerusalem.

Unmatched Scope

1,100 years of data from 1550 to 2650 for researchers and scholars.

Founding Patrons

The Founding Patron program invites visionaries to participate in this horological journey from its earliest chapter. Each Founding Patron receives a unique serial number (FP-001, FP-002…), lifetime access to EternalClock, and priority access to the future Roddy Carlo & Co. timepiece.

Your patronage directly funds the research and development of what will become the world's first watch to display the new crescent as observed from Jerusalem — calculated with the precision of NASA/JPL DE440 ephemeris data. This is not a subscription. It is an investment in a vision.
